Cleaning out the cobwebs

The urge to sew has passed for now, so it's the perfect time to sort out my fabric stash and notions and clear some of it out. I have some FQ's available to swap, and if I link the photo right they will be below, otherwise the link to my flickr photos is in the sidebar. Go have a look, maybe one will catch your eye?

Available to swap!

Fabulousness

Last Monday was so bad that Tuesday was bad and Wednesday too. Pretty much the week over before it picked up. But today was such a good Monday that there is no way this week will be anything but fabulous my dahlings, fabulous!!

Fabulous fabrics, including this Paris Hilton concoction:

Fabulous things made by me:
The cat ball even came out in a ball shape! My whipstitch is pretty shit-stitch (groan) but it holds things together well enough. Just got to make about 4 more mice skittles.

Fabulous mail:
Vintage transfers from Jane, thank you so much!! Plenty of stitching to pass my time!

And more mail fabulousness: The Spring and Winter Stitchettes to complete my set. I owe my brother big bucks for them (his credit card) but pfffft he can wait. I'm far too busy right now!

And to round out the fabulousness I sold an auction on Trade Me so theres money in the bank this week. And what a week it's going to be!

Photo fest

The buying of the contents of these photos tired me out I had to rest the whole next day. I'm getting old!

First I had to buy some new fabrics. I was forced to really, because I needed some really amazing fabric to offset the bags I intend to make from my new book. I love the black fabric, I shoulda got more.

My new book! My Amazon order finally came. Speedy they are not. Unfortunately my sewing machine tension is out of whack so before I can even start sewing things I need to fix that. The one part of my machine I hate fiddling with.

The Wee Wonderfuls autumn stitchettes (didn't even know I could get them in NZ) and a sublime stitching pattern!

Not to mention more fat quarters last night, which I am just going to ease into my stash quietly so as to feel less guilty about the fact that I will probably never use any of them. Far too pretty to cut into.

And at this point I am going to stop buying craft supplies and MAKE SOMETHING.

Fabric bandit struck again

Dave obligingly and rather foolishly drove me up to a quilting shop I recently discovered. Oh my. He sat in the car and read the paper while I shopped. The pink and green ones at the back are for my first quilt. The red ones in the front are for my second quilt. The polka dot ones and the fat eighths are flannel and I have my secret devious plans ready for them. Basically I intend to let them sit there for a while while I stress myself into a stomach ulcer that they cost a fortune and I should be using them. Then I'll use them.

Full moon freaks

Some very odd happenings today, and to be honest a pretty crap few days.
Two standout things. The first was a conversation. The health store was out of catnip so alas, the catnip toys will have to wait a couple of weeks. This is the conversation I had with the freaks behind the counter (and freaks is being nice about them):

Sane Girl(SG): Do you know when you're getting more catnip?
Loopy Girl(LG):Ahahahaaaahhahaa(in a random tone)
Permanently stoned guy(PSG): We'll be getting some in...soon. I had catnip tea last night and I gave some to my flatmate and she started turning into a cat.
LG: Ahahhhaaaahhhaaa
SG: Thinks: he's a winner Says: oh. This is for an ACTUAL cat.
PSG: Oh ok. Are you a cat person? Do you become a cat?
SG: Thinks: get me out of here! Says: No
LG: Ahhhhaaahhhhaaahahahaha
PSG: I'll make a request for us to get some catnip in. Tell your cat it won't be long.
SG: OK. *rolls eyes*

The other noteworthy thing: a fabric purchase! And a big one for me too, 4 different fabrics! I felt like dancing because it can be hard to find worthy fabrics there. The goldfish one is even a Heather Ross print.

A perpetual calender panel:

Today has been so crap other than the fabric score that I had to take myself off to bed for a long nap. You are never too old, young, whatever for a good, long, refreshing nap.
