This is one of the many sculptures in Wellington. It's supposed to be shells, more specifically I THINK it's meant to be paua (related to abalone) shells. Think blue mother of pearl only much more vibrant. So it's a bit annoying that whenever I see the sculpture all I can think of is mouldy potato chips...
